Reconstruction of one of the major highways – Magtymguly Avenue was expanded in Turkmenbashi city. Works to order of the Capital Construction Management of the Balkan province are carried out by the “Balkangurlushyk” Trust with the municipal construction-repairing management, subdivisions of the “Balkanenergogurlushyk” Trust of the province, the Turkish “TEK-IMAS” Company and other subcontracted enterprises.
It is planned to widen the carriageway, to fully replace nearly four kilometers of roadway with the accomplishment of boskets, pavements and dividing strip from extreme ring interchange “Balykchi” in the western part of the city till intersection of the avenue with the seafront “Bahry Hazar”. Powerful technique is used in the construction of the new road. In spite of granite rocks on separate lengths, it easily overcomes the difficulties on the mountainous pass “Shagadam” and provides realization of works in time.
The Magtymguly Avenue is the busiest highway of the city. Therefore, the reconstruction of the street is carried out during unceasing flow of traffic. The work has been churned out: asphalt concrete workers relentlessly follow heavy machines. Immediately after removing of old road surfacing, smoothing and ramming gravel-sand bed on a regular length of the road, they proceed to asphalting. Gravel and other inert materials are delivered from the local quarries, hot asphalt – from the asphalt plants in suburbs of the city. In making asphalt concrete, best brands of paving bitumen, crushed stone and other filling agents are used. Low layer of surface is made of the porous hot coarse-grained asphalt concrete, and upper layer – from the dense hot fine bituminous concrete.
Presently, road-building subdivisions labor from slope of the pass, separating the city into two parts, till junction of the Magtymguly Avenue to the first-class road on the seafront “Bahry Hazar”. On the path under construction, dividing strip with illuminating lampposts is being laid. Taking into account the architectural-landscape composition, the foundations of the reinforced concrete storage tank for watering of greenery in boskets and dividing strip by drip irrigation method is laid on the mountain upland.
The carriageways of autobahn under reconstruction - eleven and a quarter meters on each side from dividing strip allow drastically relieving the transport net of the city, making way for three lines of cars in opposite directions. The renewed avenue will join the uninterrupted highway the eastern entrance of the city with the western exit to the expressway, leading to the National Tourist Zone “Avaza”.
Realization of the projects on accomplishment of parks, architectural-constructive renovation and construction of new dwelling and social buildings, modernization of networks and transport communications is going on in Turkmenbashi city.
