In early October 2025, a delegation of Turkmenistan led by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mergen Gurdov took part in the second Turkmenistan-UAE Business Forum, which was held in the premises of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). The event was organized jointly by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the UAE and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the UAE.
The forum was attended by representatives of government agencies and the private sector of Turkmenistan and the UAE.
In his welcoming speech, the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Mergen Gurdov noted that constructive dialogue at the highest political level contributes to the active development of trade and economic ties between Turkmenistan and the UAE. He emphasized that Turkmenistan is consistently pursuing a policy of economic diversification and actively attracting foreign investments, providing favorable conditions for business.
In turn, the Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Abdallah Sultan Al Owais emphasized the high level of relations between the UAE and Turkmenistan. He expressed the Emirati side’s readiness to assist Turkmen companies interested in cooperating with local business circles and expanding their presence in regional markets.
During the forum, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Trade of the UAE presented an overview of the country’s investment climate and its competitive advantages.
Turkmen entrepreneurs presented a number of projects reflecting the potential of the national economy in areas such as industry, agriculture, energy, and logistics.
The event included an exhibition of products from Turkmen enterprises, including food products, textiles, and construction materials.
During the forum, bilateral meetings were held between the representatives of private sectors of two countries.
In addition, the Turkmen delegation visited the permanent exhibition of industrial products in Sharjah, where they got acquainted with the activities of local enterprises and modern trends in the development of the manufacturing sector in the UAE.
