The II «Toji Somon» International film festival, which brought together filmmakers from around the world, concluded in Dushanbe. Following the festival, Turkmen filmmaker Sahysalyh Bayramov was awarded a special jury diploma «For his vibrant portrayal of the theme of female fidelity» in his feature film «Daragt».
The film «Daragt», produced by the «Turkmenfilm» Association named after Oguzhan, has won numerous awards at international film festivals. This heartwarming film tells the story of a turkmen family, in which the main character, Nazik, sees her husband off to the front and awaits his return. An apricot tree, once planted by the newlyweds, becomes a symbol of hope for her.
The «Toji Somon» film festival in Dushanbe included Days of cinema from Russia, Iran, India, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan. In addition to «Daragt», audiences were shown the feature film «Composer» by director Maksat Gylyjov.
The event also included a meeting of the Board of directors of film studios, screenings of feature, live-action, and documentary films, and a conference featuring renowned filmmakers from near and far. The program concluded with a «Master and apprentice» master class and an International film forum dedicated to the 60th anniversary of renowned Tajik film director and laureate of State prize of Tajikistan named after A. Rudaki Bakhtiyor Khudoynazarov.
The II «Toji Somon» International film festival became a significant event, promoting the development of cinematography, preserving cultural heritage, and promoting national cultural values. The festival also provided a unique platform for the exchange of professional experiences between filmmakers from various countries, thereby deepening intercultural dialogue in the field of cinema.
