The 300th anniversary of birth of Magtymguly has been declared the year of the great poet of the Turkic world
At the recent meeting of the Permanent Council of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) held in the city of Bursa, the Republic of Turkey, its participants, on the initiative of the Turkmen party, unanimously supported the proposal to declare 2024 “The Year of Ggreat Poet and Thinker of the Turkic World - Magtymguly Pyragy” in commemoration of the 300th anniversary of birth of Magtymguly Pyragy, and the ancient Turkmen city of Anev - the cultural capital of the Turkic world for 2024.
