The Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute has announced the organization of the I Online Cartography Olympiad among students of higher educational institutions across the country.
The Department of Geodesy of the institute is the organizer of the competition.
All interested students studying in various fields and specialties are invited to participate in the Olympiad. No more than five students from each university are allowed to take part.
The competition will take place on December 17 at 15:00 and will be held in the form of an individual contest. Participants will be required to complete a test consisting of 50 questions.
The results of the participants will be determined by the total number of points scored. Based on the results of the competition, nine prize places will be awarded — two first places, three second places, and four third places. Incentive awards are provided for students who achieve outstanding results.

The student competition aims to identify and encourage talented, erudite, and broad-minded youth, to assess the level of students’ training, to consolidate and deepen their knowledge and skills, to stimulate creative activity, to develop critical thinking and independent work skills, as well as to strengthen friendly relations and promote the exchange of mutually beneficial scientific information among university students.
The Olympiad is held in order to implement the objectives set out in the “Concept for the Development of the Digital Education System in Turkmenistan” and the “Concept for the Improvement of Teaching Natural and Exact Sciences in Turkmenistan.”
