Expressing sincere gratitude to Hero-Arkadag for the time he spent meeting with him and conveying warm greetings from UN General-secretary António Guterres, Kakha Imnadze noted high appreciation of the UN for initiatives of Turkmenistan in the interests of ensuring global peace and sustainable development in the region.

The UN General-secretary Special representative also emphasised significant contribution of our country to advancing the activities of the UN Regional centre for preventive diplomacy for Central Asia, established at the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Thanking for the kind words and addressing his greetings and best wishes to the UN General-secretary, Hero-Arkadag noted that he was very pleased to meet with the Special representative of the UN General-secretary on the eve of International neutrality day.

As emphasised, at initiative of Turkmenistan, 2025 has been declared the «International year of peace and trust». The significance of this year is significantly enhanced by the fact that it coincides with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan, three times recognised by the UN General Assembly, and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations Organisation.

As Hero-Arkadag noted, numerous events have been held in our country and abroad this year to commemorate these significant dates. An international forum will soon be held in our white-marble capital, Ashgabat, marking the culmination of event of this year, with the participation of high-level representatives from many countries. In this regard, confidence was expressed that this forum will become an effective platform for discussing key issues on the international agenda, sustainable development, and humanitarian cooperation.

The head of the authoritative UN body, Kakha Imnadze, in turn, emphasised that holding such a large-scale forum serves as clear evidence of consistent support for the constructive initiatives put forward by sovereign Turkmenistan in the interests of universal peace and prosperity.

As noted, cooperation of Turkmenistan with the United Nations Organisation is strategic and long-term. Our country supports leading role of the UN in addressing global problems and contemporary challenges.

Emphasising that Turkmenistan is promoting a number of initiatives in maintaining peace, harnessing the potential of preventive diplomacy, ensuring energy security, developing transport and transit corridors, and protecting the environment, Hero-Arkadag noted with satisfaction that all of these initiatives have consistently received broad support from the international community.

In this context, Hero-Arkadag noted the significance of recent working visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the United States to participate in the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. During the anniversary session, the head of state presented important initiatives aimed at achieving the Sustainable development goals and outlined guidelines for future engagement of Turkmenistan with the UN.

During the meeting, Hero-Arkadag emphasised the important role of the UN Regional centre for preventive diplomacy for Central Asia in ensuring sustainable development and strengthening good-neighbourly and friendly relations in the region.

Having expressed sincere gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the President of Turkmenistan for their consistent support of activities of the Regional centre, the head of UNRCCA expressed confidence in the further strengthening of constructive cooperation with our country, based on the solid experience of many years of fruitful partnership and the existing great potential.

At the end of the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Special representative of the United Nations General-secretary, Head of the UN Regional centre for preventive diplomacy for Central Asia Kakha Imnadze exchanged best wishes.
