A friendship meeting was held in the capital of Turkmenistan, attended by representatives of public organisations of Turkmenistan and Special envoy of the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, vice Chairman of the Standing committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) Peng Qinghua.
Speaking at the meeting, Ata Serdarov, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan (DPT), praised the constructive nature of the Turkmen-Chinese strategic partnership. He emphasised that this cooperation is strengthening year after year and expanding into new areas.
«Currently, Turkmen-Chinese relations are demonstrating a closer, more friendly and broad-based character», — noted A. Serdarov.
The Chairman of the DPT particularly emphasised the firm support that the Chinese side provides at the highest government level for chosen development path and its policy of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan, within which the countries consistently support each other.
Constructive interstate, intergovernmental, and interparty relations and regular contacts serve as evidence of interest in closer cooperation of the two countries, A. Serdarov continued.
Recent key events included the 2nd «Central Asia-China» Summit held in Astana and the September visit of Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to China to participate in the SCO Summit, where he held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. At this meeting, new prospects for the further development of bilateral relations were outlined.
«This dialogue confirms the continuity of the strategic partnership between the two countries. For Turkmenistan, China is a reliable and time-tested partner. The two countries share similar positions on key issues on the global and regional agendas. These close relations are founded on the principles of friendship, equality, and mutual respect, as well as shared spiritual and moral values, formed on a solid historical foundation», - the speaker stated.
A. Serdarov reminded that, at the global level, Turkmenistan and China are joining forces for peace and stability, strictly adhering to the UN Charter. Turkmenistan highly values support for initiatives of China in the areas of regional security, energy partnership, transport cooperation, and the environment.
In conclusion, the DPT Chairman emphasised that the dialogue between national parties is an effective socio-political partnership format that allows for a positive direction in regional and interstate relations, as well as the effective realisation of the impressive potential of the two friendly countries.
