Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting on the digital system with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliyev and regional hyakims to consider issues, related to the country’s agro-industrial sector and work being carried out in the regions.
The floor was given first to Ahal Velayat Hyakim T. Nurmyradov, who reported on the carried out seasonal agricultural campaigns in the region.
As reported, wheat fields are currently being tended in accordance with agricultural practices.
As part of the upcoming cotton sowing, plowing, leveling, and harrowing of the land, as well as the application of mineral fertilizers, are underway.
To provide cotton producers with high-quality seed, work is underway to process raw cotton and select seeds, as well as repair and maintain agricultural machinery and equipment used in the sowing campaign.
Additionally, as part of the spring planting of potatoes, vegetables, and melons, agro-technical measures are being implemented to prepare the land and seed.
The hyakim reported on measures being implemented to ensure the proper functioning of heating systems in residential buildings, organizations, enterprises, and social and cultural buildings in the region, as well as to ensure uninterrupted electricity, gas, and water supplies to the population.
He also reported on the progress of construction work on facilities scheduled for commissioning in the region this year in accordance with the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country in 2022–2028” and the National Rural Program.
Summarizing the report, the head of state noted the strategic importance of the agricultural sector in strengthening the country’s economic power and, in this regard, ordered strict oversight of the full use of agricultural machinery during seasonal work in the region’s fields.
The President of Turkmenistan also assigned that the high-quality and timely construction of facilities scheduled for opening in the region this year in accordance with state programs be closely monitored.
Then, the hyakim of Balkan velayat, H. Ashyrmyradov, reported on the state of affairs in the region’s agriculture.
As reported, wheat fields are currently being tended in accordance with agricultural practices, including the application of mineral fertilizers.
Work continues on leveling and harrowing lands intended for cotton sowing, as well as preparing seed and agricultural machinery for use during the spring campaign.
In accordance with the objectives set by the President of Turkmenistan to further strengthen food security in the country and increase the production of vegetables, melons, and potatoes, the region is preparing for the sowing season for these crops.
In addition, the hyakim reported on measures taken to ensure the reliable operation of heating systems in residential buildings and social and cultural buildings in the region during the winter, to ensure uninterrupted electricity, gas, and water supplies to the population, and on the pace of construction work on facilities scheduled for completion in the region this year.
After hearing the report, the President emphasized that agriculture is a key sector of the national economy and, in this regard, instructed the hyakim to ensure a comprehensive approach to current seasonal agricultural activities to ensure bountiful harvests in the future.
The head of state also ordered that the quality of construction work at facilities scheduled for opening in the region this year, in accordance with the country’s socio-economic development programs, be monitored.
Then, the hyakim of Dashoguz velayat D. Babayev reported on the progress of ongoing agricultural campaigns in the region.
As reported, guided by the objectives of the comprehensive development of the agro-industrial sector and further strengthening the country’s food abundance, seasonal agricultural work continues in the velayat. Thus, in areas allocated for cotton sowing this year, plowing, land leveling, and soil fertilization with minerals are underway.
Measures are being taken to prepare high-quality cotton seeds suitable for the region’s soil and climatic conditions, as well as the agricultural machinery and equipment that will be used in the sowing.
In addition, agricultural activities are underway in the velayat, including plowing and leveling land for spring sowing of food crops, as well as preparing seed material.
Moreover, the hyakim reported on the work being done to ensure the proper operation of heating systems in residential buildings, institutions, enterprises, and social and cultural buildings in the velayat, as well as the uninterrupted supply of electricity, natural gas, and drinking water to the population. A report was also given on the progress of construction projects scheduled for commissioning this year in the velayat in accordance with the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country in 2022–2028” and the National Rural Program.
Summarizing the report, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of careful and rational management of the country’s land and water resources and, in this regard, instructed that current seasonal agricultural work be carried out in accordance with scientifically sound methods.

It was reported that mineral fertilizers and irrigation are currently being applied to the region’s wheat fields in accordance with agricultural standards.
As part of the upcoming cotton sowing season, plowing and land leveling are underway, as well as the preparation of high-quality seeds for cotton producers and equipment that will be used in the spring season.
Furthermore, in accordance with the objectives of strengthening food abundance in the velayat, preparation of agricultural land and seed material for planting potatoes, vegetables, and melons continues.

After hearing the report, the President of Turkmenistan noted that high-quality, agriculturally sound execution of ongoing seasonal work is the key to achieving bountiful harvests, and he issued a number of instructions to the hyakim in this regard.
The head of state also assigned the hyakim to monitor the construction schedules of projects scheduled for completion this year in the velayat as part of the country’s socio-economic development programs.
Then, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliyev reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the country.
As reported, in order to grow a bountiful wheat harvest and provide the population with sufficient grain products, crops are being tended in the velayats according to agricultural requirements.
In preparation for laying the foundation for the future cotton harvest, field plowing is in the final stages. Leveling, ridge-forming, and irrigation are also ongoing.
Work is underway to prepare high-quality cotton seeds for the season for producers and agricultural machinery that will be used in the sowing season.
At the same time, plowing and leveling of land allocated for potato and vegetable and melon cultivation is underway, and seed material for these crops is being selected for spring.
Summarizing the report, the President of Turkmenistan noted the important role of the agricultural sector in the national economy, which fully supplies the food and textile industries with raw materials, and emphasized the key challenges facing the sector today.
The head of state emphasized that strict adherence to agricultural standards during seasonal activities promotes achieving high results in agricultural production, and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to constantly monitor ongoing work in this area, particularly wheat care and preparation for the spring planting season.
Then, addressing the participants of the working meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov once again emphasized the importance of the ongoing seasonal agricultural work and instructed them to strictly monitor its implementation, including the care of wheat fields in strict compliance with agricultural requirements, as well as the timely and high-quality implementation of measures to lay the foundation for the cotton harvest and other agricultural crops.
Concluding the working meeting via the digital system, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished the participants sound health, family well-being, and great success in their work.
