During the V International Sports Games "Children of Asia" placed in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Russian Federation Turkmen team got the first six medals including two silver and four bronze.
The current international games "Children of Asia" which are holding under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee every four years gathered 33 teams from 27 countries in the Asian region, more than two thousand young athletes are competing in 20 sports.
During the last international games "Children of Asia" held in 2008 our young compatriots participated in only one form of competition volleyball. At this time the team of Turkmenistan is fighting for the medals for five types: volleyball, boxing, chess, wrestling and Sambo.
Sambo wrestlers of Turkmenistan got the first medal at the International Sports Games "Children of Asia". Of the six representatives of the team five of them managed to climb on the podium. Two silver medals won U.Nazarova (weight category to 48 kg) and D.Hallyeva (65 kg), and three "bronze", A.Halyllaeva (up to 42 kg), D.Rozykulova (56 kg) and O. Atdaeva (70 kg). All of them were preparing for competitions under the guidance of distinguished coaches and Turkmenistan Ata Adayev and Dortkuli Tedzhenov.
As part of Turkmenistan's freestyle wrestlers scored D.Orazglyzhov awarded with a bronze medal in the weight category to 58 kg. In the coming days two other inmates of the head coach of our team Bekmuradov Atabaev have to compete to fight for medals
It should be noted that the young Turkmen sportsmen acting representative in the current competitions are potential participants of the V Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts to be held in 2017 in Ashgabat on the basis of currently being built as the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's Olympic Village. Therefore participation in international games "Children of Asia" will provide them a good experience that would later help to achieve greater heights in the sport.
International Sports Games "Children of Asia" will continue until July 16.
