Turkmen wrestlers’ success at Asian Junior Championships

The Turkmen athletes won two gold and one bronze medals of the Asian Junior Belt Wrestling (Alysh) Championships (U20), which was held with participation of sportsmen from nine countries in Mashhad (Iran).

The sportsmen competed for the medals in eight weight categories. It should be noted that the Turkmen athletes ranked the strongest in three of them.

Babamurad Rejepov (under 70 kg) from Mary and Seydi Batyr ogly (under 80 kg) from Sayat Etrap of Lebap Velayat won the gold medals. ‘Bronze’ was awarded to a student of the National Institute of Sport and Tourisms Ovez Hemraev (under 90 kg).

In the team tournament the Turkmen team ranked the second after the hosts

The Turkmen athletes are planning to participate in the Adult Asian Belt Wrestling Championships which will be held in Iran in December this year.
