Young roboticists from Turkmenistan have set off for Astana, their goal being the world finals in the USA

Ten talented schoolchildren from our country traveled to Astana (Republic of Kazakhstan), where they will participate in the regional stage of the FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) championship as part of teams from 10th to 13th of February, 2026.

FIRST Tech Challenge is the largest robotics competition in the world, organised by the American organisation «First Global». Every year, more than 70 thousand schoolchildren from more than 100 countries take part in it. Participants complete complex tasks using autonomous robots they create.

The upcoming regional stage in the capital of Kazakhstan will feature 60 of the strongest teams, selected from more than 400 applicants from across the region. The main goal of our young roboticists is to be among the top three winners and earn the right to participate in the world finals, which will be held in Houston, USA.

Two teams from Turkmenistan will take part in the current regional stage. The «Oguzrobot» team included four students from Ashgabat specialised secondary school №97 with in-depth study of foreign languages – Aynagozel Keymirova, Oraznyyaz Rejepov, Nepesaly Tachmyradov and Nurali Kerimov, as well as a student from Ashgabat specialised secondary school №86 with in-depth study of English, chemistry and biology, Nazar Jumamyradov.

The «Erjeller» team will be represented by three students from Ashgabat specialised secondary school №97 with in-depth study of foreign languages – Durdane Kurbanova, Arslan Babajyyev, and Pirnazar Atayev, as well as students from Ashgabat specialised secondary school №86 with in-depth study of English, chemistry, and biology – Orazmuhammet Merdanov and Meylis Bayryyev.

Our young engineers underwent thorough training for this international competition at the training centre «Kämil bilim» of the capital.

Let us remind that last year, Turkmen schoolchildren took part in this international competition in Astana for the first time and were awarded the «International success» award. The participation of two teams this year is a clear indication that interest in technology of youth of the country is growing every year.
