Recently, the State academy of arts of Turkmenistan launched the «Days of Italian design» as part of bilateral agreements with the Italian Republic.

As part of the event, Silvia Formentini, vice-president of the Italian company «I DOGI», and Italian architect Sergio Ferrandini held a training session for the faculty and students of university.

The lecture discussed the development of contemporary Italian design and architecture, their history, the influence of design on people, and the activities of this world-famous company. «I DOGI» − design company based in Venice that specialises in creating exclusive projects using artistic Venetian glass. During the training, experts noted that, in addition to chandeliers, the company creates dining tables, lamps, glass fountains, partitions, and wall panels based on a harmonious combination of metal and crystal. Drawing on ancient classical traditions, they bring new ideas to life in accordance with the wishes of their customers.

For over sixty years, the company has been renowned for its unique and exquisite work in England, Egypt, Russia and other countries around the world. It was founded in 1968 in Venice by Francesca Macor Caminiti - mother of the current president, Domenico Caminiti - as a small business. Initially, the company specialised in the hand-made production of expensive items and the processing of Venetian art glass. Mrs. Francesca and her husband Antonio dedicated their new trading enterprise to their young children, Domenico and Giuseppe. So, taking the first two letters of their names (Domenico and Giuseppe), they created the name «DOGI».

The lesson, held at the State academy of arts of Turkmenistan, was interesting and informative. Such creative meetings make a great contribution to expanding the knowledge of our youth in the field of art.
