The International organisation of Turkic culture (TURKSOY), together with the editorial office of the Turkish newspaper «Tiyatro», held an award ceremony in Istanbul for outstanding theatre figures from the member countries of the organisation.

Batyr Charyyev, director of the Main academic drama theatre of Turkmenistan named after S. Turkmenbashy the Great, honoured artist of Turkmenistan, was awarded a high award in the prestigious nomination «Best theatre actor».

This victory became another evidence of the success of state policy of Turkmenistan. The work of theatres in the country is being systematically improved, their material and technical base is being strengthened and all conditions for the development of national culture are being created. Due to the attention of the state to the field of art, Turkmen artists receive the opportunity for wide international recognition of their achievements.

A developed festival environment serves as the foundation for the professional growth of stage actors. Theatre screenings and forums, including international ones, are held annually in the country. They act as an effective platform for cultural dialogue, allowing domestic artists to share their experiences with leading foreign colleagues and successfully integrate into the global humanitarian space.

Today, the TURKSOY award confirms the high authority of the national theatre. For the master who tied his fate to the stage, this recognition became another incentive to continue his noble mission to preserve and enhance the rich cultural heritage of Turkmenistan.
