On March 28, a sports and recreational event—an open tennis masterclass—will take place at the “Arkach” shopping and entertainment center in the capital. The event, scheduled from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, is organized by the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan as part of the implementation of the state strategy to promote sports and a healthy lifestyle.
Holding such events in large public venues is aimed at engaging broad segments of the population—especially young people—in regular physical activity. The development of mass sports and the creation of accessible conditions for citizens to stay physically active are among the priority areas of Turkmenistan’s state policy.
A rich program has been prepared for guests and visitors of the center, including an exhibition match featuring six players, a visual demonstration of basic game elements and professional techniques, and a masterclass led by a qualified specialist from the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan. During the event, anyone interested will have the opportunity to try their hand on the court using professional equipment—rackets and balls provided by the organizers. For this purpose, a mobile court with a portable net and the necessary training equipment will be set up at the venue.
The organizers note that the main goal of the event is to increase interest in tennis as an Olympic sport and to give citizens the opportunity to engage in active leisure.
Notably, the upcoming open tennis masterclass at the “Arkach” shopping center will be the second such event in the past week. The first was successfully held on March 20 at the Berkarar shopping and entertainment center, where participants gave positive feedback on the new wellness initiative by the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan.
