On March 26–27, 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus N Shagulyyev paid a working visit to the Grodno Region of the Republic of Belarus. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan. 

On March 26, 2026, a ceremonial event was held at the Yanka Kupala Grodno State University located in this region, in connection with the declaration of 2026 as the Year of “Independent, Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Heavenly Horses,” as well as on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Independence. As part of the event, a presentation of the new book by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, entitled “The Neutrality of Turkmenistan – a bright way to peace and trust” was also held. The event was attended by Turkmen and other international students studying at the university, as well as members of the faculty.

On the eve of the event, a meeting was held in the main building of the Yanka Kupala Grodno State University, located in the city of Grodno, between Ambassador N.Shagulyyev and the leadership of the aforementioned higher educational institution. During the meeting, issues related to the study of bilateral experience within the framework of scientific and educational cooperation were discussed.

The ceremonial event was then opened with welcoming remarks by the Rector of the Yanka Kupala Grodno State University I.F.Kiturko, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus N.Shagulyyev.

During the event, Ambassador N.Shagulyyev delivered a detailed speech to the participants on the proclamation of 2026 as the Year of “Independent, Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Heavenly Horses,” as well as on the celebration of the 35th anniversary of Independence in the current year.

As part of the event, Turkmen students of the university organized expressive artistic recitations of poems praising the Motherland, as well as musical performances.

In the concluding part of the ceremonial event, a separate meeting was held with Turkmen students studying at the university, with the aim of conducting an educational and explanatory discussion.

On March 27, 2026, Ambassador N. Shagulyyev familiarized himself with the academic buildings of the Yanka Kupala Grodno State University, its educational structure, as well as the living conditions of Turkmen students.
