On April 1, 2026, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan A.Bayramov and the President of the Turkmen-Japanese Scientific and Technological Association H.Koinuma, as well as representatives of Japanese companies and organizations cooperating with this association. During the meeting, issues of further strengthening previously established scientific and technological cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan, as well as introducing potential new Japanese companies and organizations to the Turkmen market were discussed.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the planned activities for the introduction of water purification technologies and equipment in Turkmenistan by the Japanese company “Tohkemy Corporation.” As is known, “Tohkemy Corporation” is a partner of the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed on April 15, 2025, within the framework of the visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Japan.

In addition, at the meeting the potential of a project proposed by a professor of Chubu University of Japan on converting natural gas into liquefied gas for export to global markets, as well as on establishing helium production from liquefied gas were discussed.

Also an information was presented on the capabilities of the services offered by the Japanese organization “Asia Seed” in developing human resources in the education systems of countries in the Asian region.
