Turkmenistan is expanding cultural and humanitarian cooperation within the framework of the International organisation of Turkic culture (TURKSOY). This May, the capital will host large-scale events aimed at promoting the rich heritage of the Turkic peoples.

The central event of the program will be an opera concert dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Turkmen composer Veli Muhadov. The work of this master, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of national classical music, will be presented in the context of the unified cultural space of the Turkic world.

The program of events also includes the TURKSOY Opera days, which will feature a creative review featuring leading soloists and ensembles.

Deputy-prime B. Seyidova presented a corresponding proposal at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the initiative, emphasising the importance of such projects for strengthening friendship between peoples. The head of state instructed the deputy-prime to properly prepare for the upcoming cultural events in Ashgabat and ensure their high level of organisation.
