Today, Turkmenistan held large-scale celebrations to mark World Bicycle Day. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed his compatriots, emphasising the key role of sports and a healthy lifestyle in the public policy of the country.

The head of state noted that Turkmenistan places particular importance on the development of mass physical education, sports, and the Olympic movement. The country is successfully implementing long-term national programs and comprehensive reforms aimed at modernising this sector. In a short period of time, Turkmenistan has created a cutting-edge sports infrastructure that meets the highest international standards.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised that promoting cycling is directly linked to environmental agenda of Turkmenistan. The sovereign state actively adheres to key international environmental protection instruments, harmoniously combining environmental stewardship with the promotion of healthy lifestyle principles.

«Cycling is the most beneficial sport, having an exceptional impact on human health, and the number of its supporters in Turkmenistan is steadily growing», the head of state stated.

The President of Turkmenistan stated that the state will continue to create all necessary conditions for harmonious work, rest, and sports for the younger generation, reliably protecting young people from harmful habits.
