In the Dashoguz velayat this year, farmers from the «Azatlyk» dayhan association in the Shavat etrap were among the first to complete the potato harvest. Over two thousand tons of harvest have been prepared here, which is significantly higher than planned. Among the tenants who successfully fulfilled their labour obligations were M. Nurmetova, who grew a good harvest on more than two hectares, G. Gutlymyradova, D. Palvanov, and others. Moreover, the yield from their fields significantly exceeded the planned figures. In total, about 28 thousand tons of crops have been harvested from the fields in the Shavat etrap.

Local farmers are considered some of the most skilled fruit and vegetable producers in the region, effectively combining their extensive cultivation experience with advanced management techniques. By the way, the harvest of cucumbers, which were planted on ten hectares, has also been completed here.

Farmers in other etraps of the velayat are also completing the potato harvest in an organised manner, avoiding losses. Let us remember that this year the harvest was grown on 8,800 hectares. According to calculations of the experts, the total yield per hectare will be no less than one hundred and forty centners.

The high volume of potatoes grown in the fields of the region each year allows for affordable prices for the crop to be maintained in local markets year-round. At the same time, more and more consumers are choosing local produce when choosing potatoes due to their taste and suitability for long-term storage.
