Ashgabat Hosts Solemn Seminar Marking the 105th Anniversary of the Communist Party of China

A solemn seminar marking the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was held in the Turkmen capital. The event brought together prominent government and public figures, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives of international organizations.

Among the distinguished guests were Ji Shumin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Turkmenistan; Chinar Rustemova, Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO; Ata Serdarov, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan; as well as representatives of the national parliament (Mejlis) and leading public organizations of the country.

The seminar opened with welcoming remarks by Ji Shumin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Turkmenistan, who highlighted the outstanding role of the Communist Party of China in the development of the modern Chinese state.

"Thanks to the Party’s well-conceived policies and state strategy, China has achieved historic accomplishments and undergone profound transformations. All of this has clearly demonstrated the tremendous advantages and remarkable vitality of our development model," stated the Ambassador.

The head of the Chinese diplomatic mission cited key economic indicators reflecting China's leading position on the global stage. He noted that China currently ranks as the world’s second-largest economy by gross domestic product (GDP) and is the global leader in merchandise trade. China is the largest trading partner of more than 160 countries, including Turkmenistan. At the same time, the country is successfully transforming itself from the "world’s factory" into an innovation hub with one of the fastest-growing technological capabilities in the world.

The head of the diplomatic mission also placed particular emphasis on the steady development of Turkmen-Chinese relations. Ji Shumin stressed that the current high level of bilateral cooperation is the result of the personal attention and support of the leaders of both countries—President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan, and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

"At the present stage, interstate cooperation continues to demonstrate strong effectiveness and stability, particularly in the strategically important energy sector," said the Ambassador.

As a significant recent milestone, the diplomat referred to the visit to Ashgabat by Ding Xuexiang, Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China. The visit was highly successful and provided a powerful impetus for expanding bilateral cooperation not only in the fuel and energy sector but also in raw materials industries and cultural and humanitarian exchanges. Concluding his remarks, the Chinese Ambassador expressed his firm commitment to further expanding and deepening its mutually beneficial strategic partnership with Turkmenistan.
