Turkmenistan Is Developing a Digital Registry of Its Historical and Cultural Heritage

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov chaired a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via the digital system, during which key issues of national importance and social development initiatives were discussed.

During the meeting, Deputy Chairwoman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Seyidova reported on the comprehensive measures being implemented to study the national cultural heritage and restore historical and cultural monuments.

The Deputy Chairwoman noted that, in accordance with the approved program, specialists from the National Directorate of Turkmenistan for the Protection, Study, and Restoration of Historical and Cultural Monuments successfully carried out another phase of research and restoration work at ancient architectural sites during the spring season of this year.

Moreover, systematic work is currently underway to establish a unified digital database of the country’s historical monuments in cooperation with leading international scholars and using advanced technologies.

The Head of State emphasized the importance of preserving the unique historical heritage of the Turkmen people for future generations.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the Deputy Chairwoman to continue the restoration of tangible cultural heritage sites and to intensify educational and public awareness activities aimed at fostering a deeper appreciation of the enduring significance of the national cultural heritage among the younger generation.
