Turkmenistan Advances Major International Projects Thanks to Its Natural Resources

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with Steve Daines, United States Senator from the State of Montana, a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.

During the talks, it was emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches special importance to the development of bilateral partnership based on the principles of mutual respect, trust, and mutual understanding. It was also noted that for many years the two countries have maintained effective cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

The fuel and energy sector, as well as the transport and communications sector, were identified as among the key areas of interstate cooperation. As noted during the meeting, Turkmenistan's advantageous geographical location and abundant natural resources enable the country to promote major infrastructure projects of international significance.

In this context, the National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasized that Ashgabat highly appreciates the attention and support of the United States regarding the establishment of the East–West and North–South transport and transit corridors, as well as the construction of the promising Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline. Hero-Arkadag expressed confidence that the implementation of the TAPI project will directly contribute to strengthening economic stability, security, and prosperity throughout the entire region.
