On 23 July 2026, at the Presidential Palace in Malé, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Maldives (with residence in New Delhi) Shalar Geldynazarov presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Maldives, Mohamed Muizzu.

During the credential presentation ceremony, the Ambassador conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the President of the Republic of Maldives, noting that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the further development of friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

President of the Republic of Maldives Mohamed Muizzu expressed his gratitude for the kind wishes and asked the Ambassador to convey his best wishes to the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov. He also emphasized the Republic of Maldives' interest in expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan in the political and diplomatic, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian fields, as well as within the framework of international organizations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Maldives Shalar Geldynazarov reaffirmed his commitment to making every effort to further strengthen the friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Maldives.
