Today in London on the Walk of flagpoles which is located on one site of the Olympic Village was a ceremony welcoming the Turkmen delegation of sports and was raised the National Flag of Turkmenistan.
Envoys of Turkmenistan had the great honor of representing their country at major sporting events the world and were welcomed by the Mayor of the Olympic Village, Mr. Charles Allen.
"We are very proud to take on the Games in London athletes from many countries, including Turkmenistan", - said the head of the Olympic Village and wished the Turkmen sportsmen large sporting success and new achievements.
The National Anthem of Turkmenistan was performed. From now on the green flag of the country will soar in the skies of the capital of Great Britain until the closing ceremonies. At the conclusion of the ceremony raising the National Flag of Turkmenistan Olympians presented to the Mayor of Olympic Village souvenirs including a unique Turkmen carpet which is the national heritage of our nation, and the book "Turkmenistan - the country's health and happiness." This colorfully decorated edition was published in Turkmen, Russian and English and devoted to large-scale changes in the national sports arena as well as deployed on the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's all-encompassing work on promotion and popularization of sports, mass sports movement and the principles of healthy lifestyle promotion Olympic ideas.
The action was attended by more than a thousand people including representatives of the Organizing Committee of Olympic Games, the media, the UK and other countries as well as employees of the Embassy of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The ceremony of raising the National Flag of Turkmenistan in the Olympic Village in London turned into a real holiday which was complemented by the atmosphere brilliant performance artists of the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain greeted the Turkmen sportsmen scintillating music and sports and circus to the song of a certain group "Queen" "We - the champions!" Song which in our days has become a musical anthem winner of sports competitions.
Ceremony ended with the passage of the delegation of Turkmenistan on the red carpet, on which the different languages of the world, including the Turkmen, was written "Welcome! - Hoş geldiňiz!»
