On July 31, 2026, in Astana, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov participated in the third meeting of senior officials of the Central Asia – Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan. 

In accordance with the meeting’s agenda, participants discussed preparations to the upcoming “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” Summit, including the draft of the final document.

In his speech, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reaffirmed the country’s commitment to further strengthening multilateral cooperation within the framework of the Forum, emphasizing the importance of developing mutually beneficial partnership between the Central Asian states and the Republic of Korea.

It was noted that the Summit, as well as the “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” business-summit are of great importance for further strengthening of multifaceted cooperation between the countries of the region and the Republic of Korea. It will contribute to establishing new direct contacts between business representatives, expanding opportunities for joint projects, and identifying promising areas of cooperation in such sectors as industry, energy, transportation and logistics, digital technologies, agriculture, and other areas of mutual interest.

On the same day, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Ms. Chung Eui-hae.

During the conversation, it was noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the further development of the Turkmen-Korean partnership, which has traditionally been based on the principles of long-standing friendship, mutual understanding, trust and respect.

In this context, the special significance of high-level visits and contacts –which have consistently held a priority place in the history of bilateral relations was emphasized. The interlocutors also discussed current issues related to preparations for the “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” Summit.
