Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Afghanistan for Economic Affairs, during bilateral talks with the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, stated the strategic importance of the construction of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline for the entire region.

As emphasized, the trade and economic ties between the two countries are developing dynamically, while joint infrastructure initiatives occupy a key place in this process. The Afghan side regards the TAPI gas pipeline, the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line, and the fiber-optic communications line not only as economic projects, but also as an important factor in expanding bilateral partnership.

The implementation of these projects will make it possible to address the energy supply needs of the population of Afghanistan, create new jobs, and open favorable opportunities for Afghan investors to generate electricity from natural gas.
