On August 15, 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Turkmenistan Ahmet Demirok, who is concluding his diplomatic mission in the country. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, Ambassador Demirok expressed his sincere gratitude to the Turkmen side for the comprehensive support provided during his diplomatic mission.

The parties reaffirmed the commitment of two fraternal countries to further developing bilateral relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres.

It was noted that reciprocal visits at high and the highest levels are the key factor in strengthening interstate relations.

The parties expressed commitment to continuing the positive practice of interaction within reputable international and regional structures, primarily the UN.

During the conversation, the diplomats discussed issues related to the trade and economic partnership between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye. In this context, the sides emphasized with satisfaction the development of trade relations and expressed the interest in increasing trade turnover.

The diplomats also confirmed the mutual commitment to further strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties.

The Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for his personal contribution to the development of Turkmen-Turkish relations and wished him success in his future endeavors.
