The 65^th-seeded men's team from Turkmenistan recorded their second draw of the tournament, sharing points 2-2 with the higher-ranked team Austria (seeded 27^th). Two victories in our quartet were won by international grandmaster Saparmyrat Atabayev (rating 2503) and Shahruh Turayev (2222). Atabayev won with the black pieces on the first board against grandmaster Kirill Alekseyenko (2656), and Turayev, who does not have a FIDE rank, got the better of grandmaster Valentin Baidetskiy (2511) on the fourth board.

International grandmaster Meylis Annaberdiyev (2384), who had previously won four games in a row, suffered his first defeat in the tournament, losing with the white pieces on the second board to international master Lukas Dotzer (2472). FIDE Master Amanmuhammet Hommadov (2389) lost his second game at the Olympiad, losing on the third board to international master Constantin Peyreur (2485).

The women's team of Turkmenistan (55^th seed) after a series of brilliant games lost with a score of 0:4 to the team of England, seeded 20^th. The team includes the talented 11-year-old Bodhana Sivanandan (2354) on the first board, who experts predict will become a future world champion. Before meeting with the team from Turkmenistan, Bodhana had won four games and drawn two of six.

In the remaining matches, FIDE candidate master Leyla Shohradova (2101) lost on the second board to four-time Great Britain Champion, woman international grandmaster Lan Yao (2270), Mahri Agamyradova (1939) lost on the third board to international master Jovanka Guska (2297), and Ogulsuray Bayrambayeva (1952) was defeated by international master Harriet Han (2284).
