Turkmenistan is among the first countries to integrate the objectives and indicators of the Sustainable development goals (SDGs) of the UN 2030 Agenda into national development strategies and programs. The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, declared this on the 23rd of September at a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty in Ashgabat.
In his speech, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty noted that the country is systematically and effectively working to protect the environment, as well as to ensure broad public access to high-quality education and healthcare services.
Hero-Arkadag also emphasised the measures taken by Turkmenistan to combat climate change and transition to a «green» economy. A comprehensive approach to solving global problems strengthens position of the state as a politically and economically stable and dynamically developing partner on the global stage, the National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasised.
