From the 2nd to 8th of October, a Turkmen delegation consisting of the President of the Academy of sciences of Turkmenistan A. Ashyrov, the rector of the Engineering and technology university of Turkmenistan named after Oguz han G. Mezilov, and the senior lecturer of the department of cyber-physical systems of this university I. Orazov is on a working visit to Japan.
The working visit was organised to discuss the current state of scientific, educational, and technological cooperation, further develop existing ties, and identify new areas and opportunities for interaction.
During the visit, the Turkmen delegation held meetings with representatives of several leading universities, research institutions, and technology companies in Japan.
In particular, meetings were held with the Chairman of the Turkmen-Japanese association for scientific and technological cooperation H. Koinuma, professor of Tohoku University Yuji Matsumoto, Professor of Hirosaki University Kenji Itaka, and also with the representative of Tohkemy Corporation M. Yamazumi.
Particular attention was paid to the ongoing partnership and its promising areas within the framework of the bilateral Memorandums of understanding previously signed between these Japanese institutions and the Engineering and technology university of Turkmenistan named after Oguz han.
Furthermore, based on the Memorandum of understanding on student exchange between the University of Turkmenistan named after Oguz han and Tohoku University, the parties discussed the development of academic cooperation, the exchange of experience between students and faculty, and the intensification of partnerships within educational programs.
During the meetings, an exchange of views took place on issues of conducting joint scientific research, conferences and educational seminars, expanding academic interaction between scientists, teachers and students, and facilitating the participation of young researchers in scientific projects.
The parties noted the importance of effectively utilising existing cooperation opportunities to implement joint initiatives in priority scientific areas such as modern technologies, engineering, artificial intelligence, innovation, and other promising fields.
The meetings held are of great importance for the further expansion of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation in the fields of science, education and technology.
The Academy of sciences of Turkmenistan and the Engineering and technology university of Turkmenistan named after Oguz han are consistently developing mutually beneficial relations with their Japanese counterparts to strengthen international cooperation and friendly ties, enhance educational and research potential, and implement advanced global practices in educational and scientific activities.
