Today, a telephone conversation took place between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
The head of the Turkmen state sincerely congratulated President Vladimir Putin on his birthday and wished him good health, happiness, and prosperity, as well as great success in his government work for the benefit of the people of Russia. The President of Turkmenistan expressed sincere gratitude to the President of the Russian Federation for his personal attention and comprehensive support for the development of Turkmen-Russian relations.
The President of the Russian Federation, in turn, expressed gratitude for the congratulations and noted that relations between the two countries are based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, and good-neighbourliness. Vladimir Putin also noted significant contribution of the Turkmen leader to strengthening interstate dialogue and, taking the opportunity, conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
During the telephone conversation, it was noted that the development of strategic cooperation with the Russian Federation remains one of the main directions of foreign policy of Turkmenistan. Traditionally friendly relations between the two countries are based on the principles of centuries-old friendship, trust and mutual understanding.
Over the years of cooperation, we have accumulated extensive experience in all areas and achieved high results.
Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation closely cooperate across a wide range of areas, primarily in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Our countries maintain regular and effective dialogue at the highest state level, as well as active intergovernmental and interdepartmental cooperation.
In addition, Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation successfully cooperate within international organisations such as the UN and the CIS. In this regard, the head of the Turkmen state noted that meeting of tomorrow with Vladimir Putin in the «Avaza» National tourist zone will provide an opportunity to exchange views on important issues on the bilateral agenda.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also emphasized that the two leaders will participate in the meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council and the Caspian Environmental Summit, expressing confidence that the upcoming meetings will further strengthen effective dialogue within the CIS and make a significant contribution to ensuring environmental stability in the Caspian region.
At the end of the telephone conversation, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin wished each other good health, continued success in their work, as well as prosperity and well-being for the friendly peoples of the two countries.
