Training Seminar on Renewable Energy Sources Held at Turkmenistan’s Energy Institute with Participation of German Experts

On October 28, a training seminar entitled “Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Storage Systems” was held at the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan. The event was organized by the “Renewable Energy in Central Asia” (RECA) project implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

The seminar aimed to promote the exchange of experience in the energy sector between the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan and its German partners, as well as to enhance the knowledge and professional competencies of the institute’s specialists in the field of renewable energy sources.

During the event, presentations were delivered on the main objectives of the “Renewable Energy in Central Asia” (RECA) project and on ways to strengthen the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan’s capacity in renewable energy sources and energy storage systems. German experts from the Renewables Academy (RENAC) and GIZ gave detailed presentations on these topics.

The seminar covered a range of subjects, including photovoltaic solar power plant technologies, energy storage systems, the flexibility and resilience of energy systems, and the efficient use of renewable energy sources.

The participants also discussed plans and promising areas for further cooperation between representatives of the RECA project of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan. Particular attention was given to the professional development of the institute’s teaching staff and specialists, the development of educational curricula, and the preparation of textbooks on renewable energy sources.
