In the middle of May of the current year, the Gymnastics Federation of Turkmenistan, which includes three subdivisions – sports, rhythmic gymnastics and sports acrobatics, started its work in Ashgabat. Now, the way to the large contests of international level is opened for the Turkmen successors of these kinds of sport.
Before opening of the Gymnastics Federation of Turkmenistan, its all three disciplines were actively developed in the country, but only under aegis of city and regional sport schools. At present, it was made qualitatively new step. Henceforth, our federation will closely cooperate with other similar sport organizations, including international for acquisition and exchange of essential sport experience. Nowadays, it is carried on the negotiations on inclusion of the Gymnastics Federation of Turkmenistan in composition of the International and Asian Federations of this kind of spots that allows the Turkmen gymnasts taking part in the Asian and world tournaments and participating in the international coaches' seminars.
It is carried out a work on creation of gymnastics groups in all regions of the country, including in the etrap centers. Under aegis of the federation, sport gymnastics championship of Turkmenistan has been held. These contests gathered nearly 60 participants, who competed for champion’s title in 5 normative groups, in Turkmenabat in May. Today, the Turkmen successors of sport gymnastics prepare for other national competitions. In the last days of September of the current year, the Cup of Turkmenistan will be played off. The best sportsmen of the country pretend to it.
Already today, the Turkmen gymnasts have to train intensively for V Asian Indoor Games and martial arts (all three gymnastic disciplines will be presented in them) to be held in Ashgabat in 2017.
