Turkmen draught players won the silver and bronze medals of the II World Mind Sports Games in Lille, France. International Grand Master Amangul Berdieva won the title of the Vice Champion and Byashim Durdiev, who received an International Grand Master certificate along with the medal, won the third place.

Turkmen sportsmen are the existing Champions of Turkmenistan of the major league. Moreover, A. Berdieva won the title of the World Champion, and she will defend the title in Aosta, Italy on December 1-9. It should be noted that our sportswoman has a privilege – in case of a draw A. Berdieva will retain the title of the best draught player on the planet.

The representatives of the Word Draughts Federation highly appreciated the success achieved by A. Berdieva and B. Durdiev and addressed a note of thanks to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, where they underlined that ‘the success of Turkmen draught players is the result of the outstanding leadership of the President of Turkmenistan in developing mind sports games’.

In his address President of the World Draughts Federation Mr. Richard Beckwith highly appreciated the significant contribution of the Head of the Turkmen state in developing the sports movement.
