Meeting of the Intergovernmental council on agro-industrial complex of CIS was held in the conference hall of the capital’s “President” hotel. The representatives of CIS Executive Committee, core ministries and departments of the countries of the Commonwealth, experts took part in it.
This forum was organized in accordance with the plan of realization of the concept of Turkmenistan’s chairmanship in CIS in 2012 and aimed at use of vast potential of traditional economic ties, development of multi-aspect mutually beneficial partnership, including in agrarian sphere.
In the course of the meeting, its participants exchanged views on formation of coordinated agro-industrial policy, opportune methods of reaction to the state of global food markets. It was also highlighted the issues of assistance to the development of agro-industrial complex, measures, being taken in connection with this in each of countries of the Commonwealth, and considered preliminary results of agricultural sector in 2012.
In the course of the meeting, the members of Intergovernmental council highly appreciated the work of forum, having expressed gratitude to the Turkmen party for high level of its organization. The parties also agreed about place for holding of the next meeting of the Intergovernmental council on agro-industrial complex of CIS, which will be held in Republic of Belarus.
