Upon conclusion of the meeting with the President of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Executive Committee, CIS executive secretary Sergey Lebedev gave an interview:
“This time my working visit to Ashgabat is related to preparation for regular meetings of CIS superior bodies. I would like to note that the CIS Executive Committee closely collaborates with the heads of all states, members of the Commonwealth of Independent States and discusses preparations for forthcoming meetings, in particular the sitting of the CIS Council of the Heads of State and meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The President of Turkmenistan also supported an idea of holding a regular meeting CIS Council of the Heads of State in Ashgabat on December 5. The meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States will be held in Ashgabat on December 4. At present, we are preparing for these forums jointly with all structures of Turkmenistan. I’m deeply sure that the meetings will be very efficient.
I have already told about the high organizational and instructive level of all forums held at the Turkmen land within the framework of Turkmenistan’s presidency over the Commonwealth. And, that is very significant, very important decisions in various spheres, including economic and humanitarian areas were adopted during these meetings…”
