According to the Order of the President of Turkmenistan, on November 5-9, 2012, the deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan S. Toyliyev will be sent to the special administrative district Macao of the People’s Republic of China for participation in the meeting of the Executive Committee and the 31st General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia.
The agenda of the meeting of the governing body, managing the Olympic Movement on the Asian continent, included important issues concerning preparation for upcoming Asian Games as well as reports of the members of the Executive Committee of the Olympic Council of Asia and others.

Last year, the 60th meeting of Executive Committee of OCA was held in Ashgabat under chairmanship of the president of OCA, member of IOC sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al-Sabah. In the course of the meeting, it was made a series of decisions urged to stimulate further development of the Olympic Movement in various countries of the Asian region. Particular point of the agenda was the presentation of V Asian Indoor Games and martial arts to be held in 2017 in Ashgabat.
The games will be held in the Olympic Township constructed in the capital that includes over 30 sport structures, including Paralympic complex and rehabilitation medical center. Nearly 2 billion US dollars will be invested for realization of the first turn of this project. Concerning the Asian Games, their program will include competitions on track and field athletics, basketball, volleyball, handball, indoor soccer, freestyle and Graeco-Roman wrestling, judo, taekwondo, national wrestling “goresh”, tennis and table tennis, gymnastics, cycle racing (track) and other kinds of sport.
Moreover, according to the decision of OCA, in the Asian Indoor Games, it will be held the contests on kinds of sport not entered into the Program of Olympic Games. It will be also held the competitions on cybersport, extreme kinds of sport, aerobics, and types of track and field athletics included into program for indoors, sport dances, indoor soccer, hockey, swimming, billiards, bowling, chess and others.
In April 2009, according to the decision of the Executive Committee of OCA, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was awarded with the Order of Honor of Olympic Council of Asia for vast personal contribution to the development of sports.
