Probably, these birds were attracted to the norther region by appearance of new life islands, which is enhanced by manmade Turkmen lake on the border of the Reserve, which transforms deserted territories.
Appearance of another representatives of Accipitridae family – a sparrow hawk, which normally lives in gorges of Central Kopetdag and Badhyz, in the beginning of the year, which was also registered for the first time, has raised special interest of specialists of Kaplankyr State Reserve. The sparrow hawk was observed near Yzyn-Shor Lake att he territory of Dashoguz Region, which probably was chosen by the bird as new hibernation place.
Targeted natural protection activity carried out by the government as well as rich biological resources and lakes located in the north of the country provide increasing of number of migrating and nesting birds.
