General Assembly of the United Nations Organization elected Turkmenistan as the member of Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for 2013-2015.
Nominating its candidacy for member of the UN Economic and Social Council for 2013-2015, Turkmenistan initially pursued two important objects. First is the rendering of maximal assistance to the UNO in adjustment of the international cooperation, close integration of various states and regions of the planet into processes of sustainable development, improvement of welfare of the people.
The second goal consists in presentation of attainments and experience of our country as the example for study and application by other states, relying on practical results of the UN projects realized in Turkmenistan.
Today, on the instruction of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, a press conference was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country. In the course of this press conference, it was made a review report on this significant event as well as highlighted relevant tasks of foreign-policy department of the country on all possible deepening and expansion of the fruitful intergovernmental cooperation in different trends.
Employees of the diplomatic offices and missions accredited to our country, international and social organizations, national and foreign mass media, political scientists, teachers and students of the higher educational establishments were invited for press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
