Turkmen sambo wrestlers returned from Minsk were solemnly and cordially in the international airport of Ashgabat. As is known, the representatives of Turkmenistan won gold, silver and bronze medals at the 36th World Championship held in the capital of Belarus with participation of teams from 64 countries. The student of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism of Turkmenistan Gulbadam Babamyradova (up to 52 kg) raised the highest stage of podium. Trainer of the sport school of Turkmenabat in Lebap province Gulnar Hayitbayeva (up to 64 kg) was honored with “silver” and coach of the high sportsmanship school of Turkmenistan Nasiba Surkiyeva (up to 68 kg) was honored with “bronze”.
Our weightlifter Hojamuhammet Toychiyev, who showed high result at the 3rd World Weightlifting Championship held in Israel among students and hosted the representatives of 26 countries, also gladdened in these days with his successes. Appearing in super heavy weight class (over 105 kg), where 8 athletes competed for the title of the strongest sportsmen, he excellently used all three approaches to the weight of 165, 175 and 186 kilograms in the snatch. He took first place in this exercise.
In the jerk, our compatriot effectively used only two approaches (200 kg and 215 kg) and became a bronze winner in this exercise and score of clean and jerk combination (401 kg).
It is noteworthy that twenty-year-old student of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism, pupil of Mary weightlifting school H. Toychiyev gained this success, being one of the youngest among the competition participants in the weight class over 105 kg. In the last year, in the Cup of Asia held in Tashkent, he took first place among juniors and won third place among adults. Now, the medals of the world championship first appeared in the collection of young talented sportsman.
Today, celebration in honor of our athletes – heroes of the World Championships for Weightlifting among students and sambo among adults took place in the conference hall of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism. Members of government, officials and workers of the State Committee for sports and its structural subdivisions, as well as students of the higher educational sport institution came to congratulate our compatriots on brilliant success in the large international competition.
It was read out the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on awarding of acting director of the high sportsmanship school of Turkmenistan D. Tejenov with medal “Watana bolan soygisi uchin” and Resolution of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. According to this Resolution, G. Babamyradova, G. Hayitbayeva, N. Surkiyeva and H. Toychiyev were awarded with cash prize for worthy contribution to the raising of Turkmen sports at high level and personal successes in the international competitions.
Champion of the world G. Babamyradova was honored with 10 thousand US dollars, vice champion of the world G. Hayitbayeva – 5 thousand US dollars and bronze prize winner N. Surkiyeva and H. Toychiyev – 3 thousand US dollars each. On behalf of the head of state, all of them also received valuable gifts.
