Two-day international seminar “Issues of preservation of rare manuscripts kept in the libraries of the Central Asia” was opened in the conference hall of the National Institute of Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. The leading specialists from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, representatives of the international organizations, including organizations of the Turkic culture “TURKSOY” take part in the forum organized by the Ministry of Culture of the country.
In the reports, the Turkmen and foreign scientists highlighted the issues of study of the cultural heritage of the Turkic people, preservation of non-material cultural heritage. It was provided the results of researches related to the restoration of the manuscript fund, use of the modern information technologies of translation of rare books, manuscripts and archive materials.
Tomorrow, the participants of the international scientific seminar will visit the State historic-cultural nature reserve “Nisa” entered in the UNESCO’s World Heritage List, National Library, and Main National Museum of Turkmenistan.
