Turkmen sportsmen won three medals of different values in Sambo World Cup among students completed in Kazan. Over 200 participants from 40 countries, including Russia, the USA, Venezuela, Italy, Spain, Israel, Korea, China and others, competed for its medals in nine men’s and women’s weight classes.
The fourth-year student of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism Gulbadam Babamuratova gained the highest success in our team. In the weight class up to 52 kg, where 11 sambo wrestlers competed for medals, in the first fight, she won a victory over E. Abdykadirova (Kyrgyzstan), in the second – for reaching the finals – overcame A. Nakova (Bulgaria). In the final, our compatriot gained the upper hand over I. Chernyak (Ukraine) and raised the highest step of the podium.
In November of this year, at the World Sambo Championship in Minsk, G. Babamuratova also won gold medal. Now, our best sambo wrestler proved again that in the weight up to 52 kg, she has no equal in the world!
Another pupil of the Lebap Sambo School, the first-year student of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism Rushana Nurjavova (up to 60 kg) became the owner of silver medal. The fifth-year student of this higher educational establishment Kerim Allanurov (up to 57 kg) won bronze medal. On the path for the podium, R. Nurjavova won a victory over representatives of Bulgaria, Kazakhstan and China, and K. Allanurov gained the upper hand over rivals from Colombia, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.
