The final of the National Boxing Tournament for the Cup of Turkmenistan among men took place in the Galkynysh Sports Complex in Ashgabat.
Over 100 best sportsmen from all regions and Ashgabat competed in the tournament. The hosts of the tournament were represented by two teams. The winners of the competitions will be included into the 2013 national team.
The shortest final of the tournament took place in the under 64-kg weight category and the most stubborn and spectacular was the last combat with heavyweights.
In the first case the final score was settled in the first minute of the first round. Serdar Hudayberdiev from Ashgabat knocked his rival Murad Pazzyev down.
Serdar’s victory was predicted as this boxer in not only a leader on the national sports arena but one of the nest sportsmen of the international level. In 2009 S. Hudayberdiev won the first place of the Asia Championship in China. This year he won the sixth place of the World Championship among men. As of today, the most remarkable result achieved by Serdar is his participation in the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
Djemal Amangeldiev and Ramazan Nuryev competed in the super heavyweight event. The rivals kept the pace at the high level all three rounds. Upon scoring, D. Amengeldiev was announced the winner under the storm of applause of the numerous ‘army’ of fans.
The first Ashgabat team won the main prize.
