Conference entitled “Neutrality, peacefulness and development: new boundaries of foreign policy of Turkmenistan” took place at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Employees of foreign-policy departments, ambassadors and officials of consular institutions of Turkmenistan in abroad as well as heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the country, teachers and students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, representatives of social organizations and mass media took part in the forum.

As it was underlined at the conference, the policy of positive neutrality and open doors successively pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and gained wide recognition and support is aimed at maintenance of peace and security, creation of conditions for sustainable socio-economic development in the Central Asian region and planet as a whole, fruitful cooperation with all world states and authoritative international organizations, first of all, with the UNO.

In this context, it was underlined important significance of recently approved Concept of foreign policy of Turkmenistan for 2013-2017, which gives analysis of the country’s foreign policy, outlines its major principles and goals, formulates concrete trends and tasks for near five years.
