In New Year of 2013, tourism industry sets big plans. Among them, it is worth mentioning the participation in prestigious foreign international exhibitions, organization of such exhibitions and conferences in Avaza and Ashgabat. It is planned to work out the tourist maps of the provinces and new tourist routes, publication of “Tourist guide-book over Turkmenistan”, video materials about historic-architectural and natural sights. In new year, Avaza waits for foreign guests, who will have a rest in sanatoriums and familiarize with miraculous beauties of Koytendag.

“Development program of tourism in Turkmenistan in 2012-2016” assists the confident advancement of tourism in the country and its reaching to the international level. It envisages the construction of new hotels, camping sites, sanatoriums, further development of the National Tourist Zone “Avaza”, partnership between Turkmenistan and World Tourism Organization, development of transport routes, formation of attractive tourist image of Turkmenistan.

From November 2012 to January 2013, in the National tourist zone “Avaza” on the basis of “Arzuw” hotel, the experts in tourism service from Turkey shared experiences at special seminar with staff of hotel complexes of seaside resort on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea.

In last year of 2012, the most popular tourist destinations for the Turkmen were the UAE, Russia, China, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Iran, Thailand, and Turkey. The greatest interest in our country was shown by tourists from Germany, Iran, USA, Australia, Great Britain, Belgium, France and Italy.

Turkmenistan – the land with ancient history, many historical and architectural monuments and natural attractions. Monuments of Ancient Merv, Kunyaurgench, Nisa, Dehistan, Abiverd are of invariable interest for tourists.

The capital of Turkmenistan - the garden city, city-tale becomes today one of the most comfortable cities in the continent, business, cultural, sports and tourist center.

In 2012, it was created an independent State Committee of Turkmenistan for Tourism. On September 1, more than two hundred boys and girls from all over the country began their studies in vocational school of tourism opened Ashgabat with a two-year term of study. In 2012, it was started to publish a new magazine “Siyahat” (“Tourism”) in Turkmen, Russian and English languages. Last year, it was developed a new tourist map of Turkmenistan.
