The second meeting of the Turkmenistan-UN Joint Working Group focused on drafting the Plan of National Consultations to define the tasks and goals for development for the period after 2015 took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The Working Group was established on January 9, 2013 to coordinate the process of National consultations. The first meeting took place on January, 17.
As a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council for 2013-2015 started preparations for holding the National consultations in this area and joined more than 60 volunteer countries.
The meeting participants, including representatives of the UN agencies, ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, working group members agreed on the Plan of National consultations and approved the membership of target groups and the methodology of providing the consultations. The consultations will start in accordance with the Plan in April, 2013 and complete in June of the current year.
The next meeting of the Joint Working Group will take place in March, 2013. The meeting will focus on the membership of national and international advisors to provide consultations in Turkmenistan on the key goals and tasks of the global development for the period after 2015.
