A meeting with experts of the EU-funded Project Erasmus Mundus Action 2 CANEM – Central Asian Network of Economics and Management implemented under the agreement between Turkmenistan and the European Union with the view of the modernization of the education sector took place at the Turkmen National Institute of Economy and Management.
The meeting participants noted that the modernization of the national education system and training of qualified specialists were the key factors of the ongoing ambitious social and economic reforms in Turkmenistan. Currently, the active work on the implementation of projects and programmes aimed at developing the national education system is carried out. The profound experience of cooperation has been accumulated in this sphere in recent years, including through the implementation of a number of projects under the EU-funded programmes, including Tempus and Erasmus Mundus. As is known, Erasmus Mundus Cooperation Window to Europe is an international academic programme designed to foster exchange and cooperation in the field of higher education between EU countries and their partners.
The programme envisages scientific exchanges, sharing of knowledge and experiences and introduction of best educational practices and models. In Turkmenistan these include professional development of teaching staffs of institutions of higher education and study and adoption of best international practices.
