The forum organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen National Institute for Democracy and Human Rights under the President of Turkmenistan and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) under the joint project brought together participants representing the Parliament and the ministries and departments, including the Institute State and Law of the Civil Service Academy under the President of Turkmenistan, the State Publishing Service, higher educational institutions, public organizations and the media.
International experts and Turkmen lawyers made the reports and presentations on the basic provisions of copyright law and its theoretical and practical aspects. In particular, the reports on the international law enforcement practices were presented by the GIZ experts, Regional Project Director, a judge on administrative law (Berlin), Mr. Joerg Pudelka, Professor at at the University to Kiel (Germany), Mr. Lado Chanturia and a trademark expert Ms. Nigina Negmatullaeva.
Seminar participants focused on the importance of cooperation between Turkmen lawyers and international organisations and foreign experts, including the project of the German Society for International Cooperation, in the legal field. Emphasizing that the National Institute for Democracy and Human Rights under the President of Turkmenistan and GIZ had established productive cooperation that had resulted in implementing a number of programmes and projects jointly with international experts in our country and holding numerous meetings and conferences in recent years, seminar participants expressed the mutual willingness to strengthen effective partnership, including in the legal field.
