Turkmenistan has launched the national consultations process to define the post-2015 global development framework. This news was told at a press conference that took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Representatives of the UN agencies accredited in Ashgabat and the Turkmen and foreign media participated in the briefing.
Complex challenges facing the global community today requires elaboration of the well-coordinated response strategy. The national consultations aimed at defining the post-2015 global development framework started worldwide under the auspices of the United Nations in June last year. Turkmenistan is among over 60 countries of the world participating in the UN-led discussions.
The Turkmenistan-UN Task Group formed in January of this year elaborated the plan of national consultations on these issues. The outcomes of national consultations will underlie the Turkmenistan Report on the post-2015 development framework which will be submitted to the UN Secretary-General.
The members of the Turkmenistan-UN Task Group answered the questions of the media representatives, including foreign journalists accredited in Turkmenistan. UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan Ms. Jacinta Barrins officially presented the global development framework at the press conference.
