The first meeting of the Turkmenistan-Saudi Arabia commission for trade and economic cooperation taken place in Ashgabat brought together the heads and representatives of a number of state structures, including sectoral ministries and departments of the two countries.
A representative delegation led by Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al Rabiah arrived in Ashgabat to take part in the meeting.
During the meeting, the commission members underlined the huge potential of partnership and called for widening and diversifying cooperation between Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia. Exchanging the views on the prospects of further enhancing the bilateral relations, the meeting participants defined the specific steps aimed at fostering the interstate partnership in the trade and economic sphere, oil and gas sector, agriculture, etc. particular attention was paid to humanitarian cooperation in such spheres as education and science.
Summing up the meeting, a protocol will be signed with the aim to widen the interstate cooperation in a number of key areas.
